Rackspace wins mission critical hosting contract

WebitPR, the online news distribution service, has selected Rackspace Managed Hosting for its mission critical hosting requirements.

Jonathan Dolby, managing director of WebitPR, says, "It is vital that in order to maintain our growth and continue to deliver [an] essential service that our clients can take for granted that our service will always be available. We considered moving web hosting companies in order to accommodate the continued growth of WebitPR, which in itself is a daunting task. The online service is vital; without it we are dead.”

Rackspace Managed Hosting says it is the fastest growing hosting specialist offering the world’s only self healing network, delivering 100% network availability. Founded in 1998, Rackspace offers a wide range of managed services for enterprise hosting platforms that are business revenue critical.

Dolby adds that WebitPR was impressed with the knowledge shown by the Rackspace team, the level of customer service it could offer and the flexibility it could provide. Also important was Rackspace’s track record for continuous uptime.

Dominic Monkhouse, CEO, EMEA, Rackspace Managed Web Hosting, says, “WebitPR has to be prepared for every eventuality because a specific news story can create massive spikes in activity. There could, on any given day, be a number of headline-grabbing news releases offered to a global audience. WebitPR needs the reliability and flexibility of being able to accommodate these demands in a way that is efficient and effective.”
