Trend offers SMB anti-spyware system

Security services provider Trend Micro has launched a new service designed to detect and remove evasive spyware and grayware.

Trend says its anti-spyware systems are engineered to provide accurate, real-time detection and removal of spyware and grayware while incorporating enhanced features that provide optimal scalability and ease of use. Designed to operate alongside various anti-virus and security software, the products can be used alone or as part of a layered defence strategy at multiple points in the network.

"The spyware issue is a top three priority for many European CIOs this year, with many suffering the effects of the most damaging spyware types such as key loggers, diallers and browser hijackers," explains Aldo Rimondo, vice-president of marketing, EMEA, at Trend Micro.

The anti-spyware systems feature CWShredder, which Trend regards as one of the most effective solutions for eliminating the CoolWebSearch Web browsing hijacker and its many variants, some of which avoid detection and removal through ever-changing methods.

Trend Micro's global research and support centres will also provide updates to ensure that customers are protected against the latest spyware threats. Trend is confident that its anti-spyware systems allow SMBs to obtain spyware protection, regardless of their existing anti-virus product investments.
