Attenda is now managing the internet infrastructure of Glasgow council.

The council re-launched its website last year so that it could deliver more information and services electronically in line with
e-government targets.

Glasgow developed the website applications in-house and chose Attenda to design and manage a new platform which would provide improved availability and security.

Glasgow and Attenda project managed the transfer of applications from a temporary platform, integrating them into a new platform, and refining it to provide comprehensive resilience.

The solution uses Microsoft Content Management Server, which allows up to 200 people within the council to update the website.

David Wood, Glasgow head of information and communications technology, said, “The new platform enables Glasgow to provide a better service to our customers. We have greatly improved availability of the website through the introduction of this managed service.”
