Almost two-thirds of users plan to upgrade to Windows 7
according to a survey of 1,500 IT managers conducted by research
house ITIC for Sunbelt Software.
The ITIC/Sunbelt Software Windows 7 Deployment Trends &
Timetable survey polled C-level executives and IT managers
worldwide regarding their Windows 7 deployment plans and
timetables.
The survey found that 49% of businesses would upgrade to Windows
7 within the first year, another 11% said would wait until the
first Service Pack was available, while 40% of respondents had no
specific upgrade timetable.
IT managers said the main reasons for not upgrading included the
need to determine
application compatibility issues with legacy hardware and
software and a lack of a compelling business case to upgrade.
Those users with no plans to upgrade were also happy with their
Windows XP and Vista deployments.
