Managed security services (MSS) supplier Cybertrust is introducing through its subsidiary Ubizen a new managed security events management (SEM) offering. It is aimed at SMBs that require real-time monitoring and management of their security devices and applications.

SEM technologies provide real-time awareness of external and internal threats, analysis and reporting of security data, and monitor systems and report on security policy compliance. Specific services offered through the managed SEM product include 24/7 monitoring of security events and incidents filtered out by the SEM tool; management and tuning of the SEM platform; the escalation of real threats along with recommendations for mitigation; and a combination of online and offline reporting.

"Each business needs to take care of its day-to-day security operations to manage their risks and to address compliance requirements," says John Holland, Cybertrust senior vice-president of Europe.

"However, elements such as in-house competencies and organisational cultures drive organisations to different ways of handling their security operations. The addition of the managed SEM offering further expands the options for [customers] and allows them to pick the solution that best matches their business's requirements and in-house capabilities."
