Taiwanese hardware maker Iwill is to introduce a small form-factor workstation that can support two Advanced Micro Devices Opteron processors.
The ZMax DP is a barebones workstation includes a case, power supply and motherboard.
To complete the system, users add a processor, memory and peripherals, such as a hard-disc drive.
The ZMax DP will begin sampling next month and will be available worldwide during the fourth quarter. The barebones system will be priced at around $499.
Designed for workstation applications, the ZMax DP can support up to 2Gbytes of DDR (Double Data Rate) memory, and offers two 3.5in drive bays for hard-disc drives.
