More than two-thirds of the IT managers responding to this week's Computer Weekly/ Harvey Nash Big Question poll believe the chancellor should create greater incentives for IT investment.

The Government looks set to miss its target of having one million small businesses trading online by 2002, and 67% of respondents think Gordon Brown should encourage more IT investment.

"There seems very little evidence that small businesses are getting into online trading. The Government needs to provide more backing," said one respondent.
