The company, which last month announced a similar deal with IT recruitment and administration site, Coconut Street, believes its new partnership will benefit contractors by providing them with total accounting and career support. Ascot Drummond offers a range of 'paperless' accounting services to small businesses and manages contractors accounting needs via personal, secure websites that are available 24 hours a day.
In contrast, TheSkillsMarket, which promotes itself as an on-line "skills exchange", provides IT personnel with direct access to recruitment agencies in the industry. Users of its service detail their skills and experience in a profile which can be matched automatically to the specific requirements of a recruiter. Candidates can also update their profiles at any time via an interactive e-mailing service.
According to Ascot Drummond, the partnership agreement is a "multi-stage" process that is yet to be fully developed. At present there are reciprocal links on both websites, but the company says plans are in place to ensure that candidates receive the "combined advice and support" of both businesses throughout the job cycle.
"We are excited at the range of opportunities this partnership presents for both companies but, more importantly, what it will offer IT contractors," comments Ascot Drummond chief executive, Humphrey Drummond. "We will be working with TheSkillsMarket to ensure that contractors have a completely integrated recruitment and accounting service throughout changes in their career."
