BT CommSure, the business continuity specialist, has launched its business recovery service, Rapid Response.
The service, in conjunction with Cornhill Insurance, offers a fast response for companies whose voice communications fail after an unforeseen disaster, such as flood or fire, while insuring against the cost of replacing irreplaceable equipment.
Dave Lazenby, BT CommSure marketing manager, said, "When an insurance contract is taken out, BT CommSure will not only quote a response time in the case of an emergency, but will guarantee it too.
"If we don't meet the specified time the customer can receive up to 10 times the value of their annual contract to a maximum of £250,000," he added.
BT CommSure said about 80% of companies that suffer a disaster and do not have a continuity strategy, will go out of business within 18 months, due the interruption of their operations.
