The IT poaching game has taken a new turn, with e-commerce systems supplier Entranet offering a £50,000 bounty for anyone who can find it a team of 10 or more Java programmers and creative developers.
Entranet has already paid a bounty of £3,000 for each of the 107 specialists it hired directly from referrals since its internal headhunting operation was a launched earlier this year. However, more specialist IT personnel - like Java programmers - have been harder to prise from rival companies.
Entranet is not aware of any other company carrying out a similar lucrative recruitment campaign, although others may follow suit.
Entranet chief executive Nick Spooner said: "The industry must recognise that now is the time to invest in people."
The bounty will be paid once teams have completed a probation. For details, visit entranet.co.uk.
