IT personnel are missing out on crucial training because they are too busy at work, says on-line training market place, worldoftraining.com.
The company, which boasts a database of over 20,000 courses, recently gathered the opinions on training of nearly 200 visitors to the IT training and solutions show at the NEC.
Its survey revealed that while more than half of the respondents placed training packages above pensions and company cars when evaluating job incentives, two thirds did not have time to attend courses.
Of those who had participated in skills training however, 74 per cent considered that unless they practised what they learnt within a month of attending a course, the training would be a waste of time.
Anita Monteith, director of worldoftraining.com, hopes that by offering IT personnel the chance to source, evaluate, book and pay for accredited courses quickly over the internet, potential learners will have greater opportunity to further develop their skills and thus avoid being "left behind".
