The Recruitment and Employment Federation Confederation (REC), a body which represents the recruitment industry, has announced that Tim Nicholson will be its Chief Executive.
REC will formerly launch in February as a result of a merger between the IEC (Institute of Employment Consultants) and FRES (Federation of Recruitment and Employment Services). It will represent over 5,500 recruitment businesses and 7,000 individuals operating across the market.
Nicholson aims to ensure effective representation of the REC to the recruitment industry, the DTI and Government, employers and contractors. It is soon to reveal details of its membership services and is expected to review its codes of practice.
Nicholson, 55, was formerly chief executive of the Securities Institute, and a soldier who served in the Duke of Wellington's regiment across the world. He specialised in large scale training projects in the UK and overseas.
