Raspberry Pi electricity monitor

This system uses a Raspberry Pi to monitor the household electricity consumption. Using a wireless electricity monitor the system samples energy use in the home for seven seconds at a time. Data is collected and plotted onto a graph so the homeowner can view and assess which of their household products, be it a computer or a washing machine, is using up the most energy.

PA Consulting Group challenged schools, universities and inventors to use the Raspberry Pi to make the world a better place.

Winners of the competition will be announced March 20 at PA’s Cambridge Technology Centre.
