Arco workwear deploys SAP warehouse management to improve operations

Antony Savvas

Workwear and work equipment supplier Arco is implementing a SAP warehouse management system at its clothing facility in Fulwood, Lancashire, to improve its operations.

Arco has experienced a growth in demand for safety wear and casual work clothing over the past five years, and the Arco Clothing Centre now processes about 50,000 garments per week.

To cope with the increased demand, the implementation of an up-to-date process management system was seen as essential. The company selected business systems integrator CSI to deliver the SAP solution.

Arco Clothing Centre project manager Paul Cottam, said, "We were looking for a solution that would not only provide standard warehouse functionality but could also accommodate our garment decoration facility.

"Our existing system was badly in need of updating and was proving costly to run. The new SAP system will help us to meet the expectations of our customers' ever-increasing demands, as well as providing us with the foundation for future business growth."
