Games industry bucks retail sales downturn
The video game industry is bucking the retail recession, reports the Financial Times.
Microsoft said November was its biggest sales month in Europe for the Xbox 360 console, with sales up124% year-on-year.
European retailer Game Group has also bucked the trend by reporting a rise in sales, although the pace of growth had slowed.
Wal-Mart said consumers are still spending on "hot" consumer electronics such as the Wii console.
