Software supplier BMC plans to release major updates to its Marimba and Remedy tools in December.

BMC said it will introduce a configuration management database in the Marimba asset management toolset to support automatic installation of patches and software. The database will allow Marimba to find the configuration of computers on a network and roll out patches and software to target machines based on the IT policy.

The software will also be able to determine how system components, such as a database, relate to each other.

The update to Remedy provides workflow, which is used to prioritise how the software or patch is rolled out.
