HR-XML to promote EU standards

Cliff Saran
The HR-XML Consortium has formed a European chapter in a bid to drive the development and adoption of HR-XML standards.

The consortium is developing a standard suite of XML specifications to support e-business and the automation of human resources-related data exchanges. The standards are aimed at employers, HR services companies, software developers and government agencies across Europe.

Standards under development include XML vocabularies for HR. The consortium's current work is focused on standards for staffing and recruiting, compensation and benefits, training and workforce management.

The specification covers areas of HR such as assessments specification, background checking, benefits enrolment, competencies, education history and employment history. Other areas covered by the group includes payroll benefit contributions, payroll instructions and CVs.
