Preferred IT directors move on

Southampton-based recruitment agency, Preferred IT, said goodbye to two of its founding members last month when Carole and Ian Stewart left the company to pursue business ventures outside of the IT industry.

As part of a team of five directors, the couple launched the agency - which now boasts a turnover of £10 million - in 1998 to provide contract and permanent IT recruitment to organisations in Europe and the UK.

The business will continue to be run by directors Nick Daniels, David Clayden and Gordon Watson, who say there is no intention to appoint further directors yet. "The best wishes of everyone at Preferred IT go to both Carole and Ian," comments Nick Daniels. "We are very grateful to them for all they have achieved for the company, especially as we see its continued growth. The foundations that they helped to lay remain strong and will serve the company well into the future."
