Plexian buys a piece of Academy HR

Recruitment group Plexian has bought a stake in the Bristol-based human resources firm, Academy HR Services, in a move designed to expand its service offering.

The deal, which places Plexian managing director Mark Taylor on the Academy board, means that the agency will be able to provide its clients with services such as psychometric and occupational assessment, and interim and outsourced HR management, as well as executive and IT recruitment.

"Academy has an excellent reputation and their skills provide us with the opportunity to further enhance the diversity of our service to clients whilst concentrating the supply structure," commented Plexian executive chairman, Howard Butterfield.

The strategic alliance is expected in particular to benefit metajobs.net, Plexian's on-line job service, which currently boasts among its customers Lycos and Nokia.
