IT contracting to fall by 2001

IT contracting to fall by 2001

A survey conducted by the Certes Group has revealed that 45 per cent of companies envisage a percentage drop in their IT contract staffing spend for 2001.

According to the agency, which polled the opinions of 2,015 companies using IT recruiters, the dip is expected to occur as a result of businesses establishing a balance between permanent and contract IT resourcing, rather than as any "fall out" from IR35.

The agency also says its survey indicates that internet skills and Progress DB are drawing closer to Oracle in terms of skills most likely to be needed in the coming six months.
