Dell has acquired software-as-a-service (SaaS) integration company Boomi.

The terms of acquisition were not disclosed. But Dell said the deal would "help businesses reap the full value of cloud computing".

Boomi's SaaS application integration platform transfers data between cloud-based and on-premises applications without appliances or software.

Bob Moul, CEO at Boomi, said the deal would enable Boomi to scale its products on a global platform.

Dell recently lost out in a bidding war with HP for specialist storage supplier 3Par. It initially bid $1.5bn for the company in mid-August, but HP closed the deal at $1.6bn.
