Staffordshire University has saved more than £6,000 a year
after rolling out a document management and imaging system.
The university has integrated a document management system
supplied by Version One into its Oracle E-Business suite enterprise
resource planning system to store purchase invoices and deliver
remittance advices.
The university is also scanning 30,000 purchase invoices each
year by using a Kodak i1420 scanner.
Lynn Coburn, Staffordshire University's deputy finance director,
said, "Before Version One, we had no document imaging
functionality. All the original purchase invoices were stored in
the finance department.
"If anyone wanted to obtain an invoice, they would have to
physically trek into the finance department to retrieve the
required documents."
The university plans to use the system to manage electronic
circulation of documents.
