Microsoft is offering Dynamics AX 2009 enterprise resource
planning customers a free dashboard that captures data on energy
consumption.
The
Environmental
Sustainability Dashboard can be configured to a firm's specific
requirements.
Companies that are working to the voluntary Global Reporting
Initiative will be able to track progress on core environmental
performance indicators that are part of the standard.
These indicators include fuel consumption and the carbon
footprint of their power usage.
The free dashboard, said Microsoft, means that firms that cannot
afford consultants will be able to measure their environmental
progress themselves.
