Windows
Vistagroup policy management can be made
easier with SDM Software's new web-based interface for simplified
desktop configuration management.
SDM said GPExpert Desktop Policy Manager secures and configures
Windows desktops in two easy steps.
Using an intuitive web-based interface, GPExpert Desktop Policy
Manager makes applying security settings and user
lock-down policies much easier.
Administrators simply select the policy templates to include and
the computers or users to target, and GPExpert Desktop Policy
Manager does the rest.
The offering features a comprehensive set of policy templates
for computers and users. Computer policy features include templates
for security configuration, group membership control, power
management and system services security.
User policy features include templates for application
restrictions, browser security, desktop lock-down, drive and
printer mappings and device restrictions.
In addition to the built-in templates, GPExpert Desktop Policy
Manager enables IT administrators to support any additional policy
settings for configuration of both computers and users using
Microsoft's PowerShell scripting language.
Desktop Policy Manager also supports the industry-standard
Service Modeling Language (SML) for describing configuration
definitions.
Its built-in approval-based workflow also allows IT
organisations to control any changes made to desktop configuration
so that companies can remain compliant to their corporate
governance requirements.
