Juniper Networks
has launched the newest member of its T-series family, the
T1600 core router. Capable of delivering 1.6 terabits per
second of throughput in a single half-rack chassis, the
service-aware T1600 core router is designed to ease the transition
to next-generation networks.
“The new Juniper T1600 multi-terabit core router will allow us
to increase network capacity in line with escalating service
demands without adding incremental systems,” said Matt Bross, BT
Group Chief Technology Officer.
Designed for multi-chassis deployments, the T1600 can scale to
deliver up to 3.2tbps of throughput in a single standard seven-foot
rack – more than twice the density of traditional platforms. As
with all Juniper routers, the T1600 is fully policy-enabled and
managed through the recently announced Session Resource Control
product family.
