Whitbread signs renegotiated £26m outsourcing contract

Whitbread Group has signed a renegotiated £26m, five-and-a-half-year extension to an existing contract with service company CSC to provide India-based applications support.

Whitbread Group has signed a renegotiated £26m, five-and-a-half-year extension to an existing contract with service company CSC to provide India-based applications support.

CSC already provides desktop support for all of Whitbread’s central information systems and technology, including datacentre services, e-mail, internet and intranet.

The new contract extends all services to March 2012 and adds applications support to the mix.

Ben Wishart, group IT director for Whitbread Group, said, “After a thorough review of our operations, we felt that the previous contractual arrangements were fit for a different Whitbread and that change was required [in light of the company’s acquisitions, divestitures, integration and growth]”.

CSC’s World Sourcing operation will provide the application support for the hospitality company.

The new deal expands the existing contract value to about £120m since 2000.
