Smart Global is partnering with mobile operator O2 to offer mobile data services specifically designed for the needs of SMEs.

The subscription-based services have been designed so that software is delivered directly to the mobiles of business professionals, with no need for back office installation and IT integration.

The applications offered include mobile instant messaging; real-time business and market information; "pushed" corporate e-mail, calendar, contacts and task synchronisation; mapping and navigation solutions; and more complex workforce, sales and time management services.

Guy Rosenhoiz, Smart Global chief executive officer, said, "By hosting and managing all applications centrally and enabling self-service provisioning, we are removing the huge fixed costs and commitment associated with back office installation, which can dissuade SMEs from adopting mobile data services."
