Oracle has extended its tender offer for PeopleSoft to midnight Eastern Daylight Time on 19 September.
This is the second time Oracle has extended the offer, which had been due to expire on 15 August.
Since first proposing the acquisition, Oracle has increased its cash tender offer it is now worth about $7.5bn in total.
Oracle launched its offer for PeopleSoft on 9 June. Last month Oracle chief executive officer Larry Ellison said his company was determined to buy PeopleSoft, even if it took another year to complete the deal.
