Fast Ltd held its annual conference, 'The Complexity of Change', at Mercedes-Benz World in Weybridge Surrey, yesterday. Supported by premier sponsor FrontRange Solutions, the Software Asset Management (SAM) authority held the event for more than 100 IT managers, IT directors and managing directors/CEOs, who attended the SAM education show to listen to a selection on speakers.


Microsoft gives guidelines on migrating to Windows 7 with desktop virtualisation
To mark the one year anniversary of the launch of Windows 7, Microsoft is giving enterprise customers guidelines on how to migrate to the platform, particularly with desktop virtualisation. Analyst Forester Research recently revealed that the adoption of Windows 7 is frozen at 10% of enterprise PCs. With the aim of speeding up the adoption process, Microsoft is giving advice to its customers via its "Windows for your Business" blog.

Terremark to expand with new data centres
Terremark Worldwide has announced its plans to expand its data centre space in four key markets. To meet customer demand for colocation and cloud services, the data centre operator said it may turn to the debt markets to finance the construction of the new data centres. A new $45 million Culpeper, Va., facility is expected to be 50,000 square feet.

Parallels reveals version 10 of Plesk Panel
Parallels has announced version 10 of its flagship control panel, the Parallels Plesk Panel. The product is designed to enable service providers to more easily deliver services to hosting customers. According to the vendor version 10 includes over 100 new features.

Apptio lands equity investment from Cisco
Appito has landed an equity investment from Cisco Systems. The software vendor has raised another $3.5 million from Cisco and current investors Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, Madrona Venture Group and Shasta Ventures. The vendor also partnered with reseller Wipro.
