In a bid to grow it's market beyond traditional voice dealers Julian Barnes, general manager of Samsung's network division, office products, said that it would be using Wick Hill to distribute it's OfficeServ and Ubigate products.
"Samsung hasn't had as much share as traditional voice companies but we are investing in converged voice and data," he said.
One of the attractions of it's products got an SME customer was the ability to use the products on an existing PBX infrastructure, said Ian Kilpatrick,chairman of Wick Hill.
He added that it's reseller base, with a security and data background, could steal a march on voice rivals.
"Convergence hasn't grown at the rate some people were expecting and that's because the data reseller are the ones that need to be driving it," he said.
He added that it would be offering resellers training, marketing and sales support to get them up and running.
Barnes added that although sons of it's competitors were talking about other types of technology the customers were not yet in a position to adopt most of that.
"We will move to a world where people want to use video and do greater collaboration but not many users want that right now," he added.
