Ingram celebrates a year of channel transformation

Ingram Micro has marked the first anniversary of the Channel Transformation Alliance by outlining its plans to increase reseller support in year two

Ingram Micro is blowing up the balloons and putting up the bunting to mark the first birthday of the Channel Transformation Alliance promising a second year of providing support for the channel around moving to the cloud.

The distributor established the Channel Transformation Alliance (CTA) in September last year and with the backing of major vendors including Microsoft, HP, CA Technologies, Symantec and APC, set about providing resellers with practical advice and support in establishing a cloud business.

In the last year 900 resellers across Europe have signed up for the CTA web site and 1,400 partners have attended events designed to educate the channel about the cloud market.

The second year of the alliance activities kick off on Monday dubbed 'CTA 2.gO' with beginner and advanced tracks offering support for channel partners at different stages of the cloud journey.

There will be an extended focus on technologies that work in conjunction with the  cloud including virtualisation, BYOD and unified comms.

The distributor is working with a model that allows country heads to influence the direction of the CTA and to bring new ideas that could potentially be rolled out across EMEA.

A response from Christian Lindberg, sales and marketing manager, advanced solutions at Ingram Micro Sweden, summed up the way the CTA was influencing activities in individual countries.

"We will do our best to leverage CTA to provide value to the channel, to generate new sales leads, engage with customers and vendors on these important technologies, and make some healthy marketing revenues," he said.
