Q. Can I monitor and manage a
calculated recovery point objective (RPO) and recovery time objective (RTO)? If yes, which tools can I use, and is real-time RPO/RTO possible and practical?
You can only measure
RTO and
RPO if you perform regular restores to see what the measurement would be. The only tool that you can use to monitor a calculated RPO and RTO is a stopwatch.
If you're looking to achieve real-time, zero-length RTOs and RPOs, you can absolutely do so with continuous data protection (CDP).
