Wimbledon's Centre Court is the most famous tennis court in the world, at the heart of the most important tennis tournament in the annual sporting calendar. Like any major organisation, Wimbledon depends on IT for its success, and event organiser The All England Lawn Tennis Club has worked with IBM since 1990 to use the latest technology to enhance the experience of fans and players alike. Every year IBM uses the championships to showcase its capabilities, and this year has introduced new innovations in data analytics, private cloud infrastructure, virtualisation, security threat protection and website functionality. Computer Weekly was invited behind the scenes to see the Wimbledon technology infrastructure in operation.
