CyberGuard has introduced a low-cost wide area network (Wan) security appliance designed to protect SMEs and the branch offices of large companies against internet threats.

The SG560 appliance is designed to protect mixed network environments consisting of local area networks (Lans), mobile connectivity and guest user access.

The SG560 provides 120Mbps of firewall data scanning throughput, and up to 100 IPSec secure virtual private networking (VPN) tunnels.

The solution comes with two Wan ports, a fail-over capability to ensure continued protection, and traffic shaping for quality of service.

The SG560 costs £260 and is available now.
