Business-intelligence supplier Applix has launched TM1 Web, its real-time BI product for its TM1 analytics eng...
The product allows users to create real-time web-based worksheets from within Microsoft Excel, said Dave Menninger, vice-president of worldwide marketing and product strategy at Applix.
Menninger said Applix TM1 can drive cost-effective, real-time "what-if" analyses, and TM1 Web allows users to share that data across the enterprise in an environment where they are already comfortable.
"It is estimated there are more than 150 million registered users of Microsoft Excel," he said. "TM1 Web now gives every single one of them the power to be both a consumer and a creator of sophisticated and dynamic business intelligence, with nothing more than a browser and a basic understanding of spreadsheets."
He added that using Excel as an interface makes sharing easy, with TM1 Web supporting all the functions, formatting and graphing capabilities of Excel on the web.
Dynamic reporting capabilities within TM1 Web ensure that reports are up to date as soon as they are retrieved. TM1 Web also provides interactive navigation through the data, which allows users to focus on the relevant portions of the data.
