Businesses are being offered the Apple iPhone for free when it
launches as a 3G device this Friday (11 July).
The new
iPhone, an upgrade from the GPRS device, supports
Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, delivering push email, calendar
and contacts to
business users.
All new emails, calendar invites and contacts are sent directly
to the iPhone 3G with no need to log on to an email account each
time, providing firms allow their Exchange servers to support this
service.
The iPhone 3G will be
free on selected business tariffs. These tariffs allow
businesses to have several iPhones and other devices on a single
business account and all on the same bill.
The tariffs allow the sharing of inclusive minutes and texts
across all users, and include unlimited calls to any O2 mobile, as
well as unlimited calls to 10 UK landlines.
Users can also take advantage of unlimited data browsing, email
downloads and unlimited access to 9,500 WiFi hotspots through
The Cloud and
BT Openzone networks, with a new iPhone "Bolt On" package.
The 8GB 3G iPhone is provided at no additional cost to primary
users on tariffs
above £41 a month (including VAT), when connecting to a new
minimum term contract with iPhone Bolt On.
The price does not include foreign data roaming charges.
