Accenture plans to hire 2,000 staff across the UK in 2014

IT services firm Accenture will hire 2,000 workers in England and Scotland this year for roles across the business in the retail, banking and capital markets

IT services giant Accenture will hire 2,000 workers in the UK this year in roles that span the business.

The roles in London, Manchester, Newcastle, Edinburgh and Aberdeen will range from entry-level to senior jobs.

Accenture's Technology division will fill 750 infrastructure services and software as a service (SaaS) positions. The company is looking for 100 recruits to work in operational and IT strategy roles, while Accenture's Digital division has 100 vacancies to fill in mobility, analytics and digital marketing. 

Accenture is also looking for 300 people with industry expertise in sectors including the retail, banking and capital markets.

“We are searching for highly motivated, skilled individuals who share our passion for how major UK businesses can transform themselves by harnessing the power of technology – particularly emerging digital technologies – to drive business strategy,” said Olly Benzecry, Accenture UK managing director..

Prime minister David Cameron, who met Accenture executives at the company’s Manchester operation, said: “These jobs are among 10,000 that have been announced today – jobs that will give people financial security for the future.” 

Accenture is also hiring for its Newcastle Apprentice scheme, which was launched in 2012 for school leavers.
