SAP has updated Business ByDesign, its cloud-based enterprise software suite to cater for more customised implementations.
Through its Business One OnDemand programme, SAP business partners implement and customise ByDesign in small and mid-sized companies.
Customers may want to choose the cloud deployment model or combine it with on-premise deployment, to avoid a lump-sum cash outlay or capital investment and help heavily reduce IT operation costs by not having to hire experienced IT staff for maintenance of the underlying infrastructure, SAP said.
The update to Business ByDesign adds iPad and iPhone support and introduces sales catalogue, account management, lead and opportunity management, as well as time and expense management for mobile users. SAP said it has also added extra capabilities for for distribution and manufacturing businesses:including third-party logistics, complete delivery, identified stock logistics and sub-material valuation.
