@34162 The most important issue is legal discovery. You may not know what you have or how to find it, so it can be very difficult to find the files that may be required by a court of law. It's also difficult to enforce data deletion (aka scrubbing) if you have not categorized your data. Recently, a judge gave a large chipmaker 30 days to recover about 1,000 lost emails that should have been kept for an antitrust lawsuit. It can be a daunting task to locate related emails, especially when the body of the message has nothing to do with subject lines -- each email body must be searched. Delays and the inability to locate required data can result in very costly penalties to your business.
