IT directors will have two opportunities to mix with their peers in May, at the IT Directors' Forum and the CIOSymposium.
About 400 IT directors from all vertical sectors except finance are expected to attend the annual IT Directors' Forum from 17 to 20 May on board the P&O liner Oriana in Southampton.
Organiser Richmond Events said this year's forum will place more emphasis on business over technology. The five themes are: the IT entrepreneur, getting results, staff and career, the future, and retail and customers.
Among the speakers are Jane Kimberlin, IS director of the Spirit Group; and Brian Jones, who until last December was CIO of Allied Domecq.
The cruise is free of charge to IT directors but requires them to meet suppliers for short appointments during the working day.
Around 100 IT directors are expected at the third annual CIO Symposium, run by CAI, which will be held at the Institute of Directors in London inMay.
This year's event promises high-level networking and discussion of best practice management for IT directors. Speakers include Jose Eiras, CIO of General Motors Europe; Graham Nugent, CIO of strategy, UPS Europe; and Nigel Arkwright, IT director of Parcelforce Worldwide.
