PalmOne has unveiled the LifeDrive Mobile Manager, a low-cost device that includes a 4Gbyte hard drive.

With its large storage capacity and offering connectivity via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth short-range wireless and USB 2.0, the £270 device is aimed at both businesses and consumers.

The LifeDrive Mobile Manager has gone against the PDA trend by not incorporating a mobile phone - an omission reflected in the low price.

But the high-capacity hard drive allows executives to take all their work around with them and synchronise it with their desktops or laptops, and with other colleagues’ machines via fast USB 2.0.

Bundled Exchange connectivity allows easy synchronisation with Exchange e-mail servers.

The LifeDrive Mobile Manager will be available next month.
