Cerco Training has introduced courses to meet the IT training needs of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The courses offer hands-on, intensive training for those wanting a fast track into an IT career. They address the types of IT problems faced by companies that do not have an in-house IT department.

Cerco's Computer First Aider course runs three days a week at its London and Nantwich training centres. It aims to help SME staff tackle basic IT problems that the business may face.

Peter Young, IT manager at Gauntlet Insurance, attended the Computer First Aider course to support his role as IT manager.

"I was recently made IT manager of my company and, al- though I had some basic knowledge of computer systems, I would be the first to admit I did not have enough of the knowledge needed to properly maintain the hardware and software used and deal with any problems which may have arisen," he said.

"Since completing the course I have been called upon several times to deal with problems that, a few months ago, I would not have known how to fix."
