PeopleSoft expects to top its financial guidance for the second quarter in a row.
The company offered no numbers to back up its statement, but said it will exceed its earlier estimates for licence revenue, total revenue and earnings per share.
PeopleSoft's revenues have been under close scrutiny since it became the target in June of a takeover bid by Oracle, which is now offering $7.3bn in exchange for control of its business-applications software rival.
Oracle is now awaiting decisions from regulators in the US and in Europe on whether or not the proposed deal should go ahead.
