Oracle will announce the next version of its database software in September at the OracleWorld event in San Francisco.
The Oracle10i is a major upgrade from the existing version of Oracle's database software, Oracle9i.
The release will focus on manageability, increased capacity, expanded clustering support and will include grid computing features. Oracle 10i will also add support for XML and web services.
"We are very focused on giving customers a fully integrated and easy to manage product," said Oracle executive vice-president Safra Catz.
The latest version of the database software is in beta. Pricing for the final product will not be too different from the 9i and should be out within a few months after September.
