Ever wondered what your former colleagues from previous jobs are up to? From this week IT professionals wanting to track down old workmates can make use of a new online service designed to help them get reunited.

IT Colleagues, which is due to go live today (16 May), is the brainchild of Roger Ellis, former IT director of Blue Circle Industries and former chairman of IT directors organisation Elite.

At the heart of the site is a searchable database of IT professionals. IT workers can enter information about themselves onto the site for free, including contact details and notes on what they are doing now. If you want to search through these details to track down a former workmate you will have to pay - the annual subscription is £10, payable by credit card.

Ellis sees IT Colleagues as more than just a contact-making site. "I intend it to be more of a club where we will organise regional get-togethers, lunches and various other social activities for the members' benefit," he said.
