Hosting and managed services provider Loudcloud has announced version 3.0 of its myLoudcloud portal, with a focus on easing customer pains associated with making changes to outsourced Web site infrastructures.

Loudcloud has improved its client-facing portal by adding four ease-of-use features, highlighted by an automated code deployment capability through which customers can easily and securely deploy code to their Web site and restore "safe" original settings should an error occur, said Matt Prevost, product manager for myLoudcloud.

Prevost said that among other new capabilities in myLoudcloud 3.0 is a tool called Robust Database Performance Analytics, for diagnosis and troubleshooting of software performance issues within Oracle and Microsoft SQL applications.

The portal also has a feature to monitor specific servers with regard to infrastructure components. An online customer documentation feature enables retrieval of detailed customer information such as billing, project management plans, and site diagrams.

Other MSPs that provide customers with more Website management control include Digex and DataReturn. Analysts believe that self-service control features will be in high demand by MSP customers and are the next step in terms of customer service portals or Web site interfaces to emerge.
