Logica is paying £9m for Hyder’s IT assets and will take on 350 staff plus a datacentre in south Wales.
Among the 24 Hyder customers to move over to Logica are Welsh Water, Western Power and Distribution, Scottish and Southern Energy and some NHS trusts.
Steve Vaness, director of business process and applications at Logica, said: “The business fits into one of our key vertical markets in utilities and energy plus outsourcing.”
Michael Harrington, managing director of Hyder’s IT outsourcing arm, said: “This is an excellent move for everyone here. Our teams can look forward to becoming part of one of the world’s premier IT services companies and believe that together we will be able to make significant progress in developing the business.”
Harrington is leaving to join another company.
