HP has completed its originally announced plan to remove Cisco networking equipment from all six of its internal data centres and replace the kit with its own. The project was due to take a year, but has been completed in six months. Any non[HP WAN equipment connecting to the six data centres -- two based in Houston, two in Austin and two in Atlanta -- have been replaced, in addition to other HP switches and routers installed. The vendor claims the new equipment was installed with no downtime to the data centres.

Nimsoft, a CA technologies company, has announced monitoring for private cloud Vblock Infrastructure Packages. The Nimsoft Monitoring Solution (NMS) is designed so service providers and enterprises can recover the root causes of issues that impact their IT services. Monitoring for Vblock is available as an option to the on-premise Nimsoft Monitoring Solution or the recently released Nimsoft On Demand (SaaS) offering.
