Q. What type of server would have the capacity to service an office of 50 people, and would the server be able to perform successful backups?
Determining the type of server with the correct capacity depends on the types of applications the office will use. Assuming that you have enough computing capacity to handle the office's computing needs during the day, there should be enough computing capacity to handle backup at night.
Just make sure that whatever backup system you put in place automates the backup and sends the backups offsite. An office of 50 people is a prime candidate for cloud backup, which would ensure that backups get offsite.
