Using VMware Player to run Windows 7 in a virtual machine

VMware Player is a free virtual machine for Windows. I'm using it here to install Windows 7 on a Windows 8 machine, as the new Microsoft OS is not approved to run on our corporate network.

To start, I have given my new virtual machine a name, and provided VMware Player with a location to store the virtual machine image.
